The month of Jones!

Kids develop fast. For my memory and your viewing pleasure, here's a few pictures of Jonesy Boy from each month of 2015.

January

February
This was when he started getting into accessories...

March

Trying on Dad's work clothes.
It isn't Movember but a good mustache is OK in March too...
Possibilities are endless....and an extra 3" doesn't hurt either.

April

Hanging out on the Jones Rock...you can check that out HERE.

April was the start of the 4-wheeler craze....brought to Jones in most part by Gpa Tucker.
In April Jones became a certified humidifier technician. His desire to learn is limited only by his mobility/flexibility.

May
Jones got his first "out-of-the-carseat" experience at The Junkyard. First of many because we all know how fun a junkyard is.

June
Olive makes a blog debut , sometime this summer these two got big enough to play together...

Translation: this on vacation and means, "I want to go ride the 4-wheeler."

July
Garage sale special.

August

One of our prayers has been to connect with our neighbors. Jones of course was the facilitator for answering those prayers. We've met Jack & Barbara at the fence more this summer than the last 4 years. They love seeing him and for whatever reason he loves seeing them. Their dog helps too.

September

October

He was so excited he didn't know what to do, a real live horse.

November

The November snow was perfect for packing....and also the first real snow experience. In typical Jones fashion he screamed when we took him out because he didn't want to go, then screamed when he had to come in.

December
Jones and Max were fussing till finally Dad had enough and took them out to the garage. Didn't hear a peep for 2 hours as we messed around. Here's some standard fridge repair going on.

Jones got to golf with Dad for the first time...it actually went pretty good.
You can read more HERE.

Golfing in December

There's a short list of people I'd love to hit the links with that I haven't already. Two weeks ago I got to check off one of them. It was perfect....62 and sunny in December and the course was empty. I was a little nervous but figured worst case scenario we got home. He much rather wanted to ride the cart than go home so this was one of his more obedient 2 hours.

Yes he uses a wedge to putt.

Fuzzy hat with ears. Monkey backpack. Sunglasses. Just standard golf equipment.

As you can see the golf game lacked a little. Rusty putting plus no time to look for lost balls for fear of my caddie ending up in the lake or a wrestling match with the geese.

This was the only time things didn't go well....when we had to leave.

It is well with my soul

Sitting here at dupont hospital in room 2112 I wanted to journal a few thoughts about my 2 weeks of illness.

-we think we have more control than we do over our physical body's functioning.  I've never felt more out of control of my body or more dependant on God's authority over my physical life.
- Romans 8- the present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that's to be revealed in us as His children. Also in rom. 8- so many promises I can claim as a child of God. (See post about psalm 27 and the song by Bethel "no longer slaves ") "You split the sea so I can walk right through it, you drown my fears in perfect love, you rescue me and I will stand and sing, I am a Child of God "
- illness changes my understanding of the eternal.  The only real thing that matters this side of heaven is the fact that Jesus is Lord of my life.  I have many blessings to enjoy while I'm here (children, spouse,  family,  friends ) but when I felt like my body was dying -only heaven and the eternal mattered. I'm glad it appears I'm going to be well at this point, I so desperately want to raise my own babies.. but even they are God's possessions and He is who decides that.
-God has shown His care for me in incredible ways during this illness.  The power of prayer, Godly nurses caring for me (even a midnight laying on of hands by 2 precious nurses on Dupont's med/surg floor). I made every believer who visited me pray over me, read scripture to me, etc.   My boys have been loved to pieces by wonderful, Godly family and friends.  Every time the boys would leave after visiting I'd cry.. but almost every time that happened God gave me something encouraging to think on.
-  I have wonderful coworkers and boss, who tried to find ways to help cheer me while here.

I feel weak,  messy and tired... but so cared for by my Abba Father.. and His care for me was often shown through you His people.
That's all for now.
Thanks for everything !
Maria

Generation Nostalgia

It's been kinda cool to see my boys grow up with some of the things I did...and it's interesting how some styles change. Apparently when I was a baby, it was common to wear a "cap". Cap looks suspiciously similar to a bonnet...

I love this picture because it catches a little bit of my son's indifference to the physics that challenge him. Doesn't matter the size of the hoop or the ball, he still shoots. I'm praying this translates into a spirit that never quits. That avoids negative voices and rises above. That still tries after years of fails. A spirit that inspires other people. He's already inspired ol' Dad...
