Desiring God and Thankfulness

Maria here..
I'm not a great blogger- haven't figured out all of the techy stuff yet... But  was wanted to share a few thoughts today. Uncle Dave just posted a video that Jeremy and I had watched a year or 2 ago.. it was such a great reminder today of some major truths in life with our God. This video actually inspired our "thankful board" that some of you may or may not have seen at our house lately. I love the reminder to be thankful every day- for big things and small things.. all gifts from God.

Also this morning Jeremy's Bible was open to these verses "Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the father is not in him. For all that is in the world- the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride in possessions- is not from the Father but is from the world. And the world is passing away with its desires, but whoever does the will of God abides forever."
1 John 2:15-17

These thoughts in combination are penetrating my heart today. Helping me refocus on what truly matters in the "big picture" of life. Also, being a mamma has given me a whole new look on my life and my view of the world and view of God. What are my actions teaching my son about possessions, thankfulness, and desiring God vs. the desires of the flesh and eyes? He learns so much every day.. what is he already learning from my attitude and actions? I hope he's learning more about my great God and King and the joy that can be found in him. Praying for grace today. Thankful for some fresh perspective in my marriage, parenthood and most of all my walk with Jesus.

Check out an awesome story HERE.

A few things I'm thankful for today..
Sanctification through the Word
Jesus
Jeremy
Jones
Family
Friends
Christian Community Healthcare Clinic
A warm house
most of all a LOVING GOD who is constantly molding and shaping me.
